Today was our first full day living in the Travco. We really haven't come up with a better name for it yet, but I'm sure it will earn itself an appropriate nickname. So for now, we just call it "Travco".
Because winters in Minnesota can be frigid, my top priority for us has been staying warm.
We discovered that our Travco does not have blowing heat while driving it. I do have lever that is labeled "Heat", but that really just opens a vent and allows a slight amount of engine heat to hover around the vent grill. Honestly, the temperature inside might be 5º warmer than the outside temperature when we are rumbling down the road. We have both an electric and propane heater that work great when we are stationary.
Something else I have discovered: driving at 50mph in a vehicle of this size feels fast! I never thought I would be one to push the minimum speed limit on a freeway, but safer is better when driving around in a house.
Edwige and I watched a movie tonight about a cold war soviet submarine. It is my belief that living in our Dodge Travco might be very similar to living on a submarine! And we think that's kinda cool ;-)
