Kurt and I spent the past week in a beautiful area called Deep Creek Preserve. The land is under the care of the Southwest Florida Water Management District and it's free to stay. There was no water, no electricity and no neighbors but plenty of wildlife. I love the peace and seclusion of this place. It was not entirely in the bushes though, civilization was just a 20-minute bike ride away.
While we stayed there, we conserved water so we wouldn't have to break camp. In a week's time, we used 4 gallons of water to wash and 3 gallons of water to drink and cook. For electricity we plugged an inverter into our deep cycle battery to run one light at night and keep iphone, ipad and camera battery charged.
We finally had to break away from the quietness to go and hook up to electricity at an overcrowded RV Resort to do some photo processing.
