We made it! We're back in Minnesota... have been for the past 7 days. Now we are preparing for our drive to the North Shore where we'll be camp hosts at a state park. We've taken the last few days to relax and prepare for the 200 mile drive which I'm sure will have me white knuckled around Duluth (hills).
We also have a Chevy Astro van that needs fixin' and I've spent some time with that this week. Eventually, we'd like to convert it to an "adventure van". We'll use it for going places that our Travco cannot. As well, we'd like to eventually be towing it with us, but that'll have to wait until our Travco has a 440 in it. Our 318 is so tired. It has been good to us, but its rejecting any attempt I make to improve it. The non-foulers on the fouled plugs were a bad idea (really bad)... the rebuilt carburetor doesn't seem to make all that much of a difference... the list goes on.
Random note: While under the Travco I found another set of keys that the previous owner had stashed near the axle. I now have three sets of keys when I originally had one. Also, my father gave me his vintage wood Automotive Creeper. Its from the same decade (60's)... and its pretty neat. I no longer feel like I'm spelunking in tight crevasses when I go under the Travco for repairs!
