Ten minutes. Thats how long it takes me to get the Travco up to 45 mph. By the way, 45 is our top speed now before it starts backfiring from the carburetor. An ignition problem? It could use a tune-up. But finding a garage that knows how to mess with points and ignitions prior to 1975 is amazingly difficult. Our road side assistance claims to have unlimited distance towing to the closest service center that is qualified to operate on our vehicle. If we break down, it could test their claim of "unlimited".
I have swapped out the fuel filter, cleaned the points with an emery board, used carb cleaner... I might have to attempt the tune-up myself. And I'm thinking I might just install an electronic ignition and see if that helps.
Have you noticed that my recent blog entries are revolving around the health of our Travco!? Well, I'm going to deviate from that for a moment.
Today Edwige and I saw a bobcat and a group of wild pigs while on our hike! The bobcat came within ten feet of us. I had my 10.5mm fisheye lens mounted on my camera at the time and yes, I fired off a few shots but the result wasn't great. They look like those old photographs of Bigfoot (way off in the distance and hard to know what you're looking at).
